22-04-2006 :: The Events page is created!
The Events page presents both the scheduled events and a log of news. It is always interesting to have a place to promote future events. Unfortunately, nothing is scheduled before July! The news interest regular guests. They drive them quickly to the new features. The log allows to measure the progress but also to bring back old memories.
25-03-2006 :: The About Us page is created!
The About Us page presents the projet outlines, the founder, and the development plan. In the future, the site should pass through three phases. Now, the site is a simple display case. After, it will offer content management facities to provide up-to-date informations. And finally, we will deploy a collaborative environment. The ultimate aim is an efficient spread of the scientific knowledge.
20-03-2006 :: A nice picture is found for the Welcome page!
We have found a nice picture for the Welcome page. It shows a lighted match and its smoke exhibing three very nice and organized vortexes. The dissipative structures are among the first interests of the founder. He was fascinated both by their complexities and by their beautiful patterns. We are hoping that complex systems and dynamical systems will take more and more place in this site.
18-03-2006 :: The Mathematics Lab architecture is compliant with the Argonauts-IT organization!
We are using the Argonauts-IT facilities like the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) to help the site maintenance. The different features (e.g., links, buttons and blocks) have the same look and feel, and the two sites have a similar layout and architecture.
15-03-2006 :: Mathematics Lab is born!
The initial material is imported from our geocities site. It comprises mainly our banner composed by a trefoil knot (31) and our slogan. The knot has been drawn 4 year ago with gnuplot. Although the Mathematics is sometime abstract, they can also generate nice patterns. The slogan (your imagination becomes reality) put the emphasis on the fact that Mathematics is a powerful tool to create sophisticated solutions of complex problems.
